Late Shri Satyam Setty, the founder of Shrinivas Sugandhalaya started his manufacturing activities in the year 1964. The beginning was modest and was almost a one man show from a small premises in Bhatwadi, Ghatkopar, Mumbai. However, his creations were out of the world and he was popularly known as the King of Masala Incense (Agarbatti) in trade circles. Nag Champa Incense which was formulated by him is extremely famous all over the world especially in US and Europe. It is considered to be the largest exported brand of incense sticks. Needless to say the brand is still going strong in all the countries it is exported. Currently, it is being exported to more than 45 countries all over the world and new countries are being added every year. We have recently added Japan and Yugoslavia to the ever increasing list of countries. The company also manufactures other brands of perfumery products such as incenses, dhoop cones, sachets, massage oil etc and these items are also widely exported to many countries. The firm has manufacturing facilities in Bangalore and Mumbai and the head office is in Mumbai. The manufacturing facilities at Bangalore and Mumbai together employ about 2500 employees. Many of the customers based in the US affectionately call Nagchampa as the incense of America.
The new generation, Mr. K.S. Nagraj Setty and Mr. K.S. Balkrishna Setty, with new ideas and new vision took over the reigns of the company in the year 2000 after the death of the founder. The company saw exponential growth in the years to follow with many newly developed wide range of perfumery products such as incenses, incense cones and other products which are widely accepted in the international market. The company has full fledged blending units in Mumbai and Bangalore where development of new products are always in the pipeline.
